Facebook Beats Google in US
Facebook the social networking site that serves over 400 million users worldwide is the second site to be most popular in the U.S next to Yahoo.com. Facebook has crossed the google.com by a large margin. A survey taken by a private firm released the report regarding the most visited sites in USA in the 2010.
Facebook now stood on 2nd place in world’s top websites with Yahoo to follow. With stiff competition from Orkut, the most liked Indian social networking website, Facebook managed to surge into Indian internet users in the past couple of years.
According to the firm, Facebook accounted for 7.07 per cent of all US Internet visits last week, while Google trailed marginally at 7.03 per cent.
HitWise also said that even as Google’s traffic remained steady over the past year, Facebook’s Web traffic has jumped 185 per cent compared to the same week one year ago.
