Madharasapattinam Review Movie Online: The film features Arya and British girl Amy Jackson in the lead and is directed by AL Vijay.

A special screening of the film was held for Uday who was impressed with the period drama that takes place in the 1940′s Madras, just before the Indian Independence. The buzz on the movie is good and with Uday marketing it, the film is sure to be a hit.

Production: Kalpathy S Agoram
Direction: A.L. Vijay
Star-casts: Aarya, Amy Jackson, Nasser, V.M.C. Haneefa, Bala Singh, M.S. Bhaskar, Omar, Periya Karuppu Devar, Balaji
Music: G.V. Prakash
Cinematography: Nirav Shah
Editing: Anthony
Art: V. Selvakumar

The major plus of this film is the camera work by Nirav Shah and art work by Selvakumar. Musical score by G.V. Prakash is passable and the song Vaama Duraiyamma is good. The British girl Amy Jackson is so beautiful as she will transfix you and has performed well and Aarya too does a great job with his body language and acting skills. The other actors like Poi Solla Porom fame Omar and late actor Haneefa along with Nasser have done justice to their roles.

The first half is very lengthy and audience may be more restless as the major portions are in English dialogues. The pace starts at 20mins after second half.

Kudos to the technicians – both cinematographer Nirav Shah and Art director Selvakumar have done a great job. Their earnest efforts of presenting the best visuals are commendable while editing is okay. G.V. Prakash’s background is average and none of the songs sustain in your senses.

The film can be watched for the attempts of Vijay on bring the old Madharasapattinam.

Producer Udhayanidhi Stalin of Red Giant Movies has acquired the rights of this film, which is hitting screens this Friday (July 9) with more prints across the globe.

Score: 3.5/5
