Miss America 2010, the 89th Miss America pageant, was held at the Theatre for the Performing Arts in Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas on January 30, 2010. Miss America 2009, Katie Stam from Indiana, crowned her successor at the end of the event, Caressa Cameron from Virginia. Contestants from all 50 states along with District of Columbia, Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico competed for the prestigious title. The pageant was broadcast live on TLC. This edition was the 5th year that Las Vegas hosted the pageant. The semifinalists competed in swimsuit, evening gown, talent, and the final interview. The 4 runner-ups were announced first, followed by the new Miss America winner.

Miss America 2010 Winner is Miss Virginia Caressa Cameron – Caressa Cameron is the winner of Miss America 2010 contest. Cameron won a $50,000 scholarship after beating 53 contestants at Contest.

Cameron, a 22-year-old from Fredericksburg, Va., outlasted her opponents in swimsuit, evening gown, talent and interview competitions.

Miss California Kristy Cavinder was the first runner-up, winning $25,000.

The young women who came out on stage at the beginning of the pageant and danced to “I Gotta Feeling” by the Black Eyed Peas are from all 50 states plus the District of Columbia, Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico.
